Scholarships from IF’s Foundation
IF’s foundation opens on 1 December 2025 for scholarship applications for the purposes listed below, with the final application date on 31 January 2026 for activities taking place after 1 April 2026.
The purpose of the foundation is to promote education, studies and research within the pharmaceutical sciences.
The foundation’s mission is to support education, studies, and research within the pharmaceutical sciences.

General Requirements
- Any previously awarded scholarship must be reported before a new application can be approved
- You must personally pay for the activity you are applying for
- All scholarships are tax-free
- Organizations cannot receive compensation for educational expenses covering individual employees
Prioritization criteria
- Preferably applicants affiliated with a Swedish university, or active in research, for example at government agencies or research institutes in Sweden
- Preferably doctoral students (not applicable to scholarships for degree projects or summer research)
- Preferably members of Apotekarsocieteten (The Swedish Pharmaceutical Society)
- Any previously awarded scholarship must be reported back before a new scholarship can be granted.

- Courses and conferences (PhD students and PhD degree holders).
- Summer research (undergraduate students).
- Exam projects abroad (undergraduate students).
- Post doc scholarships (PhD students).
- Research visits (PhD students and PhD degree holders).
What can you receive a scholarship for?
Summer Research Scholarships 2026
Scholarships for undergraduate students who wish to conduct a summer research project at an academic institution. For students who have not yet graduated or completed a Master’s thesis
Scholarship amount: SEK 4,000 per week
Duration: 5–7 weeks
Application Requirements
- Personal statement (max 1 A4)
- Project description (max 1 A4) from supervisor/project leader
- Must confirm that the institution provides necessary resources
- Must describe how the project relates to pharmaceutical sciences
- Must include total amount, number of weeks, and the planned time period
- Document must be signed by both applicant and supervisor
Scholarships for Degree Projects Abroad
Travel grants to support degree projects (minimum 30 ECTS) abroad within pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences during Autumn semester 2027, or Spring semester 2028.
Important: Scholarships cover travel expenses only.
Application Requirements
- Certificate from examiner at the home institution in Sweden
- Certificate from the host institution
Scholarships for Research Courses, Conferences, etc.
Funding for participation in courses, congresses, and other scientific activities with a pharmaceutical focus. Primarily intended for doctoral students.
Application Requirements
No documents required. Motivation is written directly in the online form.
Research Visit Scholarships
Scholarships for doctoral students in Sweden to conduct a research visit at another university or research environment, within or outside Sweden.
Maximum total duration: 6 months
Application Requirements
- Planned duration of the research visit
- Project description (max 1 A4) including:
- Location of the research visit
- Planned activities
- Significance for the research project

The scholarship can only be applied for living expenses and travel costs, not for project running costs.
The application, including all attachments, must be submitted digitally via your scholarship account in the external scholarship management system. Applications are processed and accepted only through this system.

The application period is open from December to February and applies to activities starting no earlier than July 1 of the same year.
Apotekarsocietetens Foundations
The application period is open from September 1 to October 31 and applies to activities starting no earlier than January 1 of the following year.
