Welcome to the Scheele Symposium in honour of the 2021 Scheele Award Laureate, Professor Craig Crews

The symposium focuses on various aspects of Professor Crews research, including insights into the PROTAC-technology, which may pave the way for development of new, effective treatments. Take this opportunity to listen to some of the world’s foremost scientists in the area of targeted protein degradation!

About the award winner

The Scheele-award 2021 prize-winner is Professor Craig Crews, Yale University, New Haven, USA.

Professor Craig Crews has been awarded the Scheele prize 2021 for his broad excellence in drug discovery and development spanning from molecule to patient. He has combined groundbreaking science with strong entrepreneurship and received wide international recognition for his work on pharmacological modulation of protein turnover. His findings have led to new therapeutic approaches including the development of novel proteasome inhibitors and the PROTAC technology.

About the Scheele Award and Symposium

Since 1961, in honour of Carl Wilhelm Scheele, famous Swedish chemist and pharmacist, the Swedish Pharmaceutical Society has bestowed the Scheele Award on prominent scientists in drug research or related disciplines. By tradition, a symposium focused on the prize winner’s area of expertise follows the award ceremony.
